Customers most helpful reviews 27 of 29 people found this review helpful. Ok to play BluRay, poor networking capabilities of A. Yalowitz I bought this camera quite well on a whim. Since it is so new, I have not found much in terms of comments. It plays Blu-Ray fine (my old Toshiba was about a hit or miss in this regard), but the functionality of the network is low. I've been with Netflix on my Xbox 360, but tired of high annual fee to Xbox Live wanted a player with Netflix support. Compared to the Xbox 360, Netflix interface on the Sony is a joke ... Only gives instant access to the queue ... that's all. No need to look at, not played recently, not recommendations. There are indications in some of the menu functions that more might come in future versions of the firmware, but who knows. Another feature I wanted was to stream from my home network. I tried to connect to Windows Center (7) and then XBMC Media. Over 80% of my videos are not displayed or not in the game - all AVI files encoded in various formats such as XviD, DivX The same was the case with files stored on a USB flash drive - would not play shows as "damaged". I have not tested the network applications such as Hulu, Pandora. One thing about this player I really like is the Android application for remote control. Easy to configure, worked like a charm. All high-definition video is paused all the time waiting to download. Not experience this problem on both computers connected to the same Ethernet switch. I have the Samsung Walsh LN52A-650 LCD TV and BD-P1600 Blu-Ray. I have wireless internet access at home. Initially, I had a real problem getting the BR player to connect to the internet. Would find the SSID, but never mind. When I configure the manual entry and all the requested information, which failed the ping test. After hours of troubleshooting, I found a piece of information on the web, and said that the SSID can not have characters or spaces in the ID. There were spaces in SSID name, so when I fixed that connects without problems. I do not need to buy a new wireless router. What seemed to be the main solution to this problem for others on the web. However, I do not go through the hassle of re-configuring a new wireless router and do not want to spend money on the end, I have not done so. View all 623 comments ....

I have read the other reviews and have not seen or experienced all the same questions they had with regard to applications and disc playability. There have been two firmware updates that I downloaded and installed automatically when you start - it's probably the problems others have been fixed. Previously it was a great player with fast loading and has nice apps. It interfaces well with my Samsung HDTV and have only experienced good things with him. I have tried many different Blu-ray discs including avatar and have no problems. I would recommend. (UPDATE 7-7-11) downgraded to 1 out of 5 stars player has a dump on me ... in a general sense. A couple of Blu-rays were not reproduced well (or at all). Mr. & Mrs. Smith had constant juttering picture, Night and day we get an error message saying that a software update was required by the manufacturer (I had the latest software by the way) I called Samsung customer support and they had me jump through all the rings to determine that something was wrong with player, and they wanted me to e-mail to them for repairs, etc. ... Instead, he called the store where you bought it and switched to Sony BX-58. It was a very good player until he was not. 24 of 28 people found this review helpful. Honest Review After three days of use per Leininger Lu I just got this player from Amazon three days ago. There are some features of this product that exceeds my expectations. 1.The Blu-ray disc reading is very fast. This compares with the Panasonic DMP-DB60 Blu-ray as before. It is almost 10 times faster than the Panasonic DMP-DB60. I am very happy with your speed reading skills. 2.x You can use a mass storage device to this machine to a USB port that I originally thought the USB ports for storage devices are small, a flash drive or USB stick, like many previous version Blu-ray/DVD players. But after I tried connecting an external hard drive 500 GB to him were all multi-media files on the disk quickly recognized by the player. The lecture was fast. I was pleasantly surprised. 3.Besides the output of high quality video, the audio output is also very powerful. I'm using has a flat screen with my Sony Bravia 1080p, and my friend his own with an old 30-inch CRT TV (4:3), until it moved its flat-screen box. I thought of a device to do with built-in WiFi, but before you (n), I have some research online and heard buy (read) were horror stories about streaming via WiFi, that we say, somewhat less than complementary (seeds, disconnects, freezes requiring a reboot, etc.), so I decided to buy this device because it has no WiFi (why for a feature that I'm not I use it? to pay). I have a Sony BDP-S370 (used with a flat screen Samsung) and I really like, I would have bought two of them, but they were not available directly from Amazon when I ordered, so I have these - I prefer to buy at Amazon for its Return Policy also supports the BDP-S380 the "voodoo" and has a digital readout display transfer rate (Mbps), which appears when it is transmitted is implementation - both welcome additions!
