So you may be surprised that this is the first BD players I own. I tried a lot of BD, DVD, streaming boxes, so I know all their strengths and weaknesses. I waited until now because the first generation BD players are low power (which is why people complained about slow start, slow to load BD, slow menu / user interface, etc..) Knowing the outcome of that generation, plus tried-up-n- next, I expected something worth spending money on. I bought almost LG BD-390, but it was too expensive. So I waited for the next generation after that is the LG BD-5xx. Since I have the Ethernet cable to my entertainment console is to select the BD-550th For streaming video, I do not want wireless (certified public comment on quality, stuttering, delayed and re-buffering) If I absolutely had to go wireless, I would like to use 802.11n (not G) and one that supports 5GHz. But that's another topic. The 550 does everything I need and want. Fast CPU, less than 10s boot, loading of BD in about the same time (with the exception of some who have BD-Live and more complicated). BTW, to use BD-Live, connect a USB flash stick (I use a USB flash drive 4 GB, one of the tiny one. Make sure it is formatted as FAT or FAT32.). Netflix - good interface, fast (I have 25MB down/10Mb). So no problem streaming HD. Netflix requires 3.6 MB down to high definition. Nice thing about Netflix is that dynamically adjust the quality, so you can actually see the movie. This means that there will always be HD, if your Internet connection is not reliable, for example Wireless (? See why I agree with Wired) also like the 550 the ability to let me see the movie Netflix and add streaming video in the player (you do not need a computer to add movies to your Instant Queue: This is a great feature on the LG BD Vudu - great UI, slow, there is a lag between pressing buttons and getting the results I was cross, or the wrong choice by the different selection of films will cost more if I look at a.. variety of movies (pay per time) So depending on your viewing patterns, can be expensive Pandora -. good although I do not want to turn on my TV just to listen to the music that what's on my stereo .. Youtube - good, fun times when your party. Pain may be required to enter the URL using the remote. I wish I was a real USB keyboard to connect and use. I think the 550 is a bargain for the price. Very pleased. Stay away from the 3-D Blu-ray players and TV. Animals Spearhead, wait at least a year to resolve before you spend your money last but not least. Be sure to update the firmware! And check regularly. Fix various problems and add new features. I've updated twice in the first day of opening the box. 209 of 213 people found this review helpful. Netflix better experiences among the other four teams of similar price. By C. Recently players have four classes LIU BD Netflix What is the capacity. LG BD370, Samsung BD P-1600, Sony BDP N460, LG BD 550 classes and also I used Netflix HD player. Except for the year, all BD players I have tried all use wired Ethernet, not wireless. (. I have the Ethernet cable in my house, so do not need wireless network) I could tell you: LG BD 550 is by far the best when it comes to transmission of Netflix. I ended up going back to all others. BD550 rewind, fast forward is much faster than any other unit I tried. It is even faster than Roku! Of these units, Samsung BD P1600 is the slowest than BD 550 not only shows movies in the Netflix Instant Queue, it also gives you the option of the movie you like what you have to be recently observed (even after the removal of your Instant Queue ) select, newcomers, etc. It's just a.
